History

Florida Fishing Outfitters is the online branch of four local tackle shops in central Florida: Lakeland Fishing Outfitters, St. Pete Fishing Outfitters, Tampa Fishing Outfitters, and Tarpon Fishing Outfitters. Our parent company, Lee Fisher International, started in 1982 selling commercial fishing products to customers nationwide. Over the decades, popular brands by Lee Fisher International now include the Humpback cast nets, Joy Fish fishing tools, Ohero rods and reels, and the ISMART patented bucket system.

In 2005 Lee Fisher International established its first retail tackle store housing 5500+ square feet of angler's shopping paradise. Not only is the selection of fishing products unbeatable by any big box store, also customers get personalized attention from the knowledgeable staff like at a small bait shop.

Soon after the success of the Tampa store, the Tarpon Fishing Outfitters location was purchased from long-time retailer Dave’s Parts and Services in 2010. This new acquisition gave the store the ability to service reels from within our own network.
Continuing to build momentum, the company then renovated and opened St. Pete Fishing Outfitters in 2017, which has quickly become the leading tackle shop in the St. Petersburg/Clearwater area.

Purchased and renovated during the pandemic over two long years, in 2022 the newest brick-and-mortar shop, Lakeland Fishing Outfitters, welcomed the community in the building that housed the original, first Red Lobster restaurant. Just in time for the holiday season, Lakeland hosted its grand opening in style on October 21-23, 2022.

Florida Fishing Outfitters is the newest space to shop for fishing tackle curated for the unique waterways of the Sunshine State. We strive to provide the same service and selection as our stores and invite you to visit sunny central Florida for your next fishing adventure!
